It just means that the shells have spinach in with the cheese. Cook them in a baking dish how the packaging says. With red, white, or cheese sauce would be good here.
I have some stuffed shells and the bag says "shells florentine" what in the world do i cook them with or in?
Florentine means with spinach. I like it best with a cream sauce, Alfredo is readily available.
Reply:i would make a sort of manicotti dish out of it and put ricotta cheese all over the top after they were baked with some tomato/ spaghetti sauce i would then grate fresh parmigiana on top
Reply:a pasta pot or steamer
Reply:Use a nice marinara or bolognese sauce over the top. Serve with a nice Caesar salad and garlic bread.
Reply:put some spaghetti sauce in a deep baking dish, just a little to coat the bottom so they dont stick. then put the shells in, cover them with the rest of the sauce. throw some mozzarella over top and bake for about 40min or so, depending on what it tells you. i would cover them with foil until the last 5-10 minutes and throw a lttle more cheese on top.
Reply:Yep. Anything with Florentine in the name designates spinach to some degree.
Reply:They'll have regular cheese and spinach.
Reply:Florentine simply means they have spinach in them. Cook them according to the directions on the bag, and serve with chicken.
Reply:Regular marinara or for a twist use alfredo sauce.
Reply:Florentine means with spinach and a cheese sauce. You can use a plain old alfredo sauce, or you can zip it up with a bit of asiago cheese or gorgonzola.
