Is velveeta shells and cheese a healthy dinner choice?
don't deny yourself something you're craving, just don't over indulge. eat a serving which has 300 something calories and then work out a little. it's fine.
Reply:If you're going for low-calorie, cheese isn't the best choice. You also have a lot of carbs in that dinner, and you really only need those if you're planning on working out quite a lot. Other things can fill you up just as well.

Here's what I reccomend:

A lean meat (about the size of a deck of cards)... tuna will work, but only if you skip the mayo. Otherwise, try chicken or another fish.

Carrots or celery.. some sort of fresh vegetable, skip the butter OR salad with light dressing (sprinkle grated cheese on top to satisfy your cheese craving)

For desert - throw some plain yogurt, ice, fruit and a splash of milk in a blender for a yummy smoothie

Good luck! =)
Reply:no pasta and dairy too fattening

try baked foods and some vegetables

cravings only last for 15 minutes
Reply:Well the regular pasta is better but if you are craving the velveta and cheese have it just have your portion not the entire box and it will be fine.. and the tuna sandwich sounds very healthy and delicious Enjoy
Reply:The shells %26amp; cheese have a lot of calories from fat. I would stick with the regular pasta and tuna if you are watching your waistline! You could compromise and have a half a sandwich and a bowl of shells %26amp; cheese.
Reply:Velveeta shells and cheese have alot of fat and alot of salt. Regular pasta (while high in carbs) is much healthier, and has nearly nonexistant fat and salt content. Good Luck! :)
Reply:I'm all about moderation and this includes eating comfort foods. If you really want the shells and cheese, go ahead and make it up,but just eat a small porotion of it. You can balance it out with the regular pasta and tuna fish, along with some type of vegetable and/or salad.
Reply:I would go with the regular pasta as the shells and cheese have a lot of sodium.
Reply:Go with the regular pasta! Chesse has Mucho Calrioes! Athlogh it does sound quite Yummy=D
Reply:YES! Have a small helping. If you've been craving it it's best to get it out of the way in the beginning otherwise you'll end up binge eating and feeling guilty.

I wouldn't call it a healthy choice, but all things in moderation are alright. Plus, fat content doesn't matter as much as overall calorie content as it helps to satiate, make you feel full longer, and is needed for certain vitamins to be absorbed.

Also, 800 calories gives you a lot of room, especially if you already worked out. As much as another 800 is safe to still break even for your metabolic needs and is therefore totally worth it to get it your craving out of the way before you eat an entire box of shells and cheese.
