Is there any nutritional value (calcium) to eating egg shells?

No, not really a good idea to put something in your digestive system that is sharp and could cause bleeding somewhere down the line.

Is there any nutritional value (calcium) to eating egg shells?
why would ANYBODY want to eat egg SHELLS?
Reply:yes it contains calcium but i learned that from a survival show so not sure if its 100% safe to do so.
Reply:It is calcium, but eating them also creates gall stones.
Reply:Other than the potential trauma that sharp, jagged eggshells might

pose to the digestive tract, they otherwise pose no toxic threat or have any vitamin benefits. It certainly isn’t wise to eat

eggs shells but the fact remains that they are not poisonous and they have no nutritional value.
Reply:YES if your ever in a survival situation eat the shell too along with the egg, for the calcium.
Reply:It's a bit hard to absorb calcium that way. The brand name supplement "Os Cal" is better, and even better still are the new orange juice drinks that are fortified with calcium. Your body needs the natural vitamin C in orange juice in order to be able to utilize calcium. Vitamin D is important in this process too, so you'll want to be sure your diet is well-balanced so that you'll get enough of that, too.
