Where can I find a pan to cook Tostado shells for salads?

You just want a flat fried tortilla shell right?? Any frying pan will do.



Just put enough oil to cover 1/4 inch. Add one corn tortilla and with a spatula turn over when one side becomes light brown. Do not burn. Then with the flat spatula, take it off, put on a plate with a paper towel. You have a flat tortilla shell for a tostado.



If you want the tostado shell to shape like a bowl, you will need something like a fry daddy or a deep fryer. You can get a strainer shaped like a bowl, add the flour tortilla inthe wire mesh to hold the shape and fry.

Reply:those have to be deep fried, if you want a taco salad shell, you can get a form, once you through the raw flour tortilla in the friar before it becomes crispy, you press the form over it and it makes the bowl.
Reply:I saw it done once and can't exactly remember but I think you could line a wire strainer with the batter and slowly lower it into the deep fryer for a few seconds until it crisps up
