What are the best shells to use while trapshooting?
Your best bet for trapshooting is usually going to be a 12ga. 2-3/4" shell w/ 1-1/8oz of number 7-1/2 or 8 shot. This load with a improved choke tube will usually do just fine out to about thirty yards or so, depending upon your level of skill and level of comfort with the particular gun. If you are going to be shooting longer distances, you may choose to use an modified choke tube, or go to a size 6 shot which should so just fine to forty plus yards. You will have to play around with ammunition from various different manufactorers to determine, if your gun shoots better with a specific brand, or if you just like a brand in general. Personally, I would reccommend looking at Winchester AA target loads, or Kent all purpose loads. I have had the best luck with either of these two, but I will usually shoot anything that is of good quality and realatively cheap. Once you have figured all of this out, have fun and be safe.
