I know some of you will say, they'll be happy to get them either way but I think not. I just bought two large packages of the kinds with no shells and the more I think about it, they want something they can knaw on for awhile and something they can put in their pocket. Shell-less sunflowers wouldn't be the same. I also heard CORN NUTS were loved by servicemen too, but the Wal-Mart did not carry any and that's our only store in our rural area. Where canI find corn nuts? Thanks.
Sunflower seeds are listed as needs on military care packages to Iraq. With shells or not?
haha really it doesnt matter but i would say most of the time we prefer the sunflower seeds with shells like the ranch or bbq flavor. When your on patrol they give you somthing to do and can be calm as that its an activity alot of us do back at home.
Reply:My husband liked them better with shells. He said they liked it better like that for something to chew on and they come flavored that way too. As far as where you can find corn nuts...not sure about that. But I know my husband also liked it when I'd send him packages of peanuts and pumpkin seeds (the small packages that can be put in pockets)
Reply:I preferred the ones with shells while I was there. It gives you something to "do".
Reply:They've got plenty of shells already, I'd say no.
Reply:With Shells as they are for just having something to do, not really about nutrition.
It is hot a dry and they keep you from getting cotton mouth and barfing all over.
