Small egg shells in the electrical outlet?

So I went in to thouroughly clean my daughter's room and paint. I pulled off the face plate of the electrical outlet and first off noticed all of the rat poop that fell out. Then, I looked in there and there were 5 or 6 small shells, about the size of a dime. I'm really wondering what was in there.

If you live in a warm climate, it could have been geckos. Or some other kind of lizard. Careful of the Hanta Virus that can be spread by rat poop.
Reply:Possible Drywall mud compound or plaster. A plastic hose to a vacuum will suck it out, or it may need to be blown out with air. And as for the critter droppings, they're in the wall living past or present. Probable sitting on the box to do it's duty, and some fall's in. Crawl under your home with some steel wool and stuff every hole you see with it. Same goes for the attic. Locate the wire's, follow them to where they go into the wood and stuff the steel wool. This is cheaper, neater, and safer than the spray foam the hard ware store will try and sell you. Wear a dust mask whan you do it! Newer homes are already sealed per code, but being built by humans, it's posible one got missed. Rats won't tug and chew steel wool as it hurts them. So good luck and Rockon!
