What is another name for electron shells around a nucleus?

like: s p d and f orbitals ( in that order but it veries with the n value)

Reply:they are letter names- i believe K,l an M.
Reply:A "main energy level" apparently. 10 years in quantum chemistry, and I don't think I've ever heard someone use the term.
