Are the crispy, taco shells from taco salads typically made from wheat or corn flour?

I am curious because I am allergic to wheat, but have had some taco salad in taco shell - thinking it was corn shell, but then realizing it might be wheat - and have had no adverse reaction to it. I am confused

Most that i have seen were corn, but they could be made both ways.
Reply:corn. you know its corn when its yellow. mmm thats sounds good. we made taco shells in school before its easy. you get the fresh tortilla hold a metal strainer against it and push it in the deep fryer until it fries up hard.

wow allergic to wheat i love wheat bread. mmmmm.

p.s better take allergic medicine with you just in case. theres a lot of foods with wheat in it /
Reply:Those can be made from either, but you can tell just by looking-flour tortillas just don't look the same as corn ones.
