Reply:This is the way I make them:

Cook the shells and sauage like you normially would. Once they are done and cool down enough to handle them you can start stuffing. Combine all the ingredients you want witht he sausage: diced onions, tomatos, garlic, sauce, mozz, and cottage cheese. I would also add some diced green pepper and oregano if you have it. Stuff the shells with this add top wioth more sauce, mozz cheese, and parmasean. Bake on 350 for about 30 min

"This is a delicious baked pasta dish with large shells filled with meat, spinach and cheese that children always seem to love. It is kind of a 'spaghetti that behaves itself!'"

Original recipe yield: 8 servings.

INGREDIENTS:

1 (16 ounce) package jumbo pasta shells

1/2 pound Italian sausage

1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach - thawed, drained and squeezed dry

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 egg

3 cloves garlic, crushed

1/2 lemon, juiced

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

salt and pepper to taste

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

2 cups spaghetti sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

DIRECTIONS:

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add shells and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain and rinse in cold water.

Place sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain and crumble. In a large bowl, combine cooked sausage, spinach, ricotta cheese, egg, garlic, lemon juice and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt, pepper and oregano.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Stuff pasta shells with the sausage and cheese mixture and place in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese.

Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the pasta is heated through and the cheese is melted.
Reply:From Italy: open your shells, put in some garlic and parsley minced, add 2/3 drops af vinegar, not much butter (just a tae spoon tip). Put your shells in a large pan, cover it and cook in oven (200°) for 20 min. Sorry for my english.
Reply:Boil your shells..

Mix all the ingredients, -minus the sauce, into a bowl..

Once the shells are done and cooled, stuff them with the ingredients ...cheese, shredded mozzarella, pieces of sausage, etc..that you have mixed all together in a bowl.. include acouple eggs in there also. Some parsley will be good also..

Spread the Marinara sauce over the top of them... you can garnish them with some mozzarella on the top of them also..put them in an oven of about 325-350 for about 20 minutes.
Reply:Wonderful, simple, meatless main dish. This is my mom's recipe...so easy to make. You can use part-skim or fat-free mozzarella and fat-free cottage cheese to lower the fat content. Serve with fresh green salad and garlic bread. Superb!

1 (12 ounce) package jumbo pasta shells

24 ounces low fat cottage cheese

8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded

2 eggs, slightly beaten

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1 dash garlic powder

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

3 cups canned or jarred spaghetti sauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cook shells as directed on package and drain in single layer on paper towel.

Mix together all ingredients and fill each shell with 2-3 Tbsp. of filling

Spread thin layer of sauce in 9x13-inch baking dish and place stuffed shells on top.

Cover with remaining sauce.

Cover with sheet of aluminum foil and bake 25-30 minutes.

Serve with extra parmesan cheese to sprinkle over top.
