Which Scientist discovered Valence shells or Valence electrons?

I am writing a paper on chemical reactions and wanted to know who discovered valence shells/valence electrons? Which scientist and in what year?

Thanks! :)

Which Scientist discovered Valence shells or Valence electrons?
Gilbert N. Lewis of the University of California, Berkeley, about 1912 (check date). He was working from the planetary theory of the atom developed by Niels Bohr about 1905 (check date). Lewis formulated the concepts of the octet rule and the two-electron bond.
Reply:Nobody discovered them, at least in the sense that Columbus "discovered" America, the electrons were there all the time.

If you need a name, Nils Bohr was the first to advance a mathematical theory that electrons were in shells about the nucleus, and each shell could hold so many electrons. I believe this happened in 1911.
