I can't seem to crack them with my fingers.......not strong enough I guess. I tried pinching them with a staple puller......didn't work. I tried hitting them with the end of my pen........no luck. Tried prying them with a screw driver.........phillips head no good! I have a nutcracker but it's in the kitchen and I'm not. Please HELP! I'm really hungry here.

Reply:Make use of the desk drawer itself! Simply place the nut on the edge of the drawer, quickly close it, and voila, one cracked nut.

Reply:If the nut is even partially opened, I use another empty shell to pry it open. You can also try scissors to pry it open. I don't think a nutcracker would work well as the pistachio is so small.
