Can you add fresh oyster shells to a salt water fish tank?

I had brought one dozen of oysters and opened them with a clam knife and have the shells so instead of getting rid of them can I add them to my saltwater fish tank

As long as there are no remains of the oyster that was inside still attached to the shell, I don't see why not. I really don't think that just the shell in a marine tank would harm anything.
Reply:Why not?
Reply:First make sure they are real clean, maybe best to boil them in order to get any unwanted microorganisms off of them. As you know a salt water tank is real sensitive to any change in the water.

Just put a few of the oysters shell in the tank, don't over do it where it looks crowed
