I'm growing a "Plant" should I add coffee grounds and egg shells to the soil?

I hope you know what I mean by plant!

You could try this in one or two of your plants and see if it works. I wouldn't try this in all of them. You don't want to take chances with your harvest.
Reply:I would be prudent w/ grounds and egg shells...they can cause mold, fungus and attract pests...I do amend my potting soil w a 10/10/10 fertilizer (I always have a huge covered contained in my garage) %26amp; once planted, their first watering is with Thrive -- I also like Jobe plant sticks -- all of these are easy on the budget. I hate plant pests -- grounds %26amp; egg shells are great for compost
Reply:You can, as long as you keep them away from the stem. You want to feed the roots, not burn the plant.

Your best bet is to take those and start a compost pile. Then they'll be ready for you to mix them into the soil

Any synthetic fertilizer will NOT work better than organic! Coffee provides nitrogen, egg shells provide calcium. Nice to grow healthy tomatoes the organic way!
Reply:Yep, all things organic will help "the Plant" to grow lush.
Reply:Well you can, but fertilizer works better
