We all know crabs change shells. I want a small one, but I have never seen shells so tiny. Does anyone know where you can get small shells. Don't tell me to go to the beach. The closet beach is hours and hours away. So where else can you get very small shells? A website would be helpful. I'm talking smaller than a penny, or the size of a penny. Thank you.
I'm thinking of buying a small crab. Where can you get shells that little?
Stores: local pet stores, hobby stores, even Walmart (Walmart has this variety pack of shells in many different shapes and sizes).
Online: best site is Naples Sea Shell Company. Inexpensive; wide variety; and fast shipping. Link below, as well as some reference links for you if you like.
Adding a word of advice; as cute as some of those painted shells are, AVOID them at all possible cost!! The paint can and will chip and peel, and the hermit crab can and will attempt to ingest the chips, which can and will harm (or even kill) the hermit crab. Check out the Naples site; you will be pleasantly surprised, many natural shells are outright gorgeous.
Reply:I think one usually come with the crab or else they have them in the shop.
Reply:I agree
Reply:They do come with the crab, but if you go to an aquarium pet shop they should sell some. If you are looking for brightly coloured ones they should sell fake painted ones.
