Why do my shells stick to the outside of my hardboiled eggs?

What can I put in the water to make them come right off?

It doesn't matter what you put in the water, you need to start with eggs you have had in refrigerator 4-7 days. After boiling place eggs in cold water, wait 1 min. pour of water add more cold water for3-4 min. Tap and then roll eggs then peel.
Reply:I add salt and vinegar to cold water. Before I put the eggs in, I take a sharp knife and poke a small hole in the egg. After they cool, the shell and membrane right under the shell slide right off. Try it...works every time!!
Reply:Your eggs must be very fresh. The older an egg is, the easier it is to peel.
Reply:Boil your eggs for 4 min...Let stand till the water cools!Works for me! SMILES ~ : )
Reply:if your eggs are really fresh they will stick - I go with the Emeril rule put eggs in pot fill with cold water bring to boil for 3 mins turn off heat cover for 10 then put in fridge - seems to work ok -
Reply:boil with a little salt and vinegar and peel them under cold running water. Try not to boil them too long also.
Reply:white vinegar
Reply:add salt too water
Reply:Add a little salt to the water before you boil them.
