Do they fry the hard shells at taco bell?

Just the normal hard shells at taco bell... are they fried or are they baked to get them hard.

Do they fry the hard shells at taco bell?
I believe like most food service establishments, they now use everything as much as possible ready to grab and go. They originally fried them, but then tried out the ready to use ones and then again went back to frying them for a time. lol Confusing, I know, but this happens more than you think. You have a new CEO, or upper management stiff, they change things up. They now, like most though, get them ready to go and they do tout them as baked to be 'healthier'.
Reply:no they are baked around a piece of cardboard.
Reply:Coming from a former but not proud of it manager of a taco bell. They are fried.
Reply:not any more i think they come already to use. but back in the 70's when i was dating my daughters father he worked at taco bell and his job was frying the taco shells and he always smelled like the oil that they used to fry them.
Reply:I worked there 10 years ago and everything came ready to go, even the meat and beans were in a bag that we put in a boiling pot of water to heat up. I do believe they are fried before they get there.
