How can I tell a boiled egg from an uncooked one (without braking the shells)??

I boiled 2 last night %26amp; put them aside but my boyfriend came home %26amp; put them back into the fridge with the other eggs now I can't figure which are the 2 I cooked from the others.

How can I tell a boiled egg from an uncooked one (without braking the shells)??
Since he put them away you should be allowed to crack them over his head to see.
Reply:put it on the table and give it a twist - the boiled one will turn regularly, the uncooked one will wobble.
Reply:Hold it to a bright light uncooked eggs are more transparent, whereas boiled are not, simple.
Reply:By gently holding each egg and rocking it in your hand close to your ear. The yolk in the uncooked ones will move up and down inside the shell, the cooked oned will be solid and no movement will happen.

Its is a subtle difference but if you are patient you should soon feel the difference

good luck
Reply:spin them cooked eggs spin raw ones don't
Reply:Easy take them out and spin them on the table (careful now!) the hard boiled ones will spin for longer as the uncooked ones will have the insides still runny, or if your still not sure spin it then stop it, the uncooked ones will start to spin again as the insides will still be rotating.

Reply:the spin test as described above!
Reply:I heard that cooked eggs float and there's also the spin test.
Reply:a boiled egg's shell is clean and dry while an uncooked egg has a fresh shell that is transparent when you peep through it where you can even see the yoke inside
Reply:Spin it around on a flat surface then stop it and let it go quickly. If it's hard boiled it will stay still if's soft it will continue to turn!!
Reply:spin it.. if it spins nicely it is boiled, if it looks like it's wobbling, it is raw
Reply:The spin test is best. Lay the egg on it's side and spin it. this is how I test to see if my hard boiled eggs are done. If the the egg is done it will stand up straight and spin without wobbling much at all. When the egg is cooked the material inside is no longer liquid and doesn't move inside the egg and if there is any liquid inside it will wobble and not stand up. Next teach your boyfreind this procedure so he will know what to do with the eggs next time!
Reply:Jane is correct.
Reply:spin it, then stop it and let it go straight away. a boiled one will not move, the uncooked one will because the fluid inside keeps moving.
Reply:Take a pencil or marking pen and mark it with a C for cooked and a U for uncooked.
Reply:If it's for your boyfriend's lunchbox, stick a couple of raw ones in. That'll give him a shock at break time! lol
Reply:place eggs on table and spin them the boiled eggs will spin fast like a top the un boiled eggs will barely spin at all
Reply:Not sure which way round this is, but one floats and the other doesn't
Reply:Shake it gently-you'll be able to feel the liquid in an uncooked one.
Reply:they might be heavier\
